Tignes ski stag weekends offer all the right ingredients for a winter stag do. Lift passes, hotels and equipment are included as standard.

Tignes is a commune of villages set high in the French Alps, close to the Italian border. It is part of the Escape Killy Ski area and offers an enormous amount of pisted runs. Perfect for experienced skiers and snowboarders. Snow season, is late December through to early April. So plenty of time to co-ordinate a ski stag weekend in Tignes.

Getting to Tignes is not as easy as some of our other destinations but if you want to try somewhere new and you can afford to do 4 or 5 nights away then this is certainly worth putting on the table. For ski stag parties from the UK and Ireland you will need to look into flights to Geneva or Grenoble.

Our team will help with your transfers, accommodation, ski passes and ski equipment. The Tignes après ski and nightlife has a super reputation. The most famous of all being the ‘Folie Douce’. This is Tignes most famous Après Ski bar and the place starts rocking from around 3pm.

After some Apres you can head back to Tignes. As Tignes is a group of villages there is no central area to party. You will need to discover your own favourites close to where you are staying. Bars worth mentioning include So Bar, Box Café and Loop bar which has a sun terrace.

FRENCH ALPS | WINTER FUN

Tignes is 2 hours from Chambery and 3 hours from Grenoble airports; so it is perfectly possible to do a Tignes ski stag weekend here.  It’s a high resort. Altitude is between 1500-3500m so you guaranteed good skiing on the 150km’s of pistes.

The famous Grande Motte ski area is where we recommend skiing. It offers the most reliable snow conditions and offers a nice range of easy cruisers as well as some more challenging red and black runs. For advanced skiers our top tip is try La Sache black run.

Top tips for après ski in Tignes

BARS, CLUBS & SKI BABES !

For food on the slopes check out Lo Soli and the Panoramic. Both great and with superb views. For Tignes Apres ski we would recommend Le Lac area. Loop bar is a chicken dinner. In Val Claret check out Drop Zone and the Melting Pot.

Tignes is not cheap but it is not crazy compared to some resorts in France, Austria and Switzerland. We think it’s a solid choice for a ski stag do if you are an experienced group of skiers or boarders.

Tignes is also connected to Val D’Isere so there is an almost limitless terrain on a ski weekend even for the very fittest skiers.

Planning a skiing stag do

Planning a skiing stag do for 15 guys was becoming a bit of hard work, so I decided to contact Stag Mania. I had a 1-1 manager throughout the booking and emergency contacts in the resort. Save on beer money

Stag Mania were recommended by a friend at work. And so glad we did contact you.  Russ was really helpful. Always quick to respond if I had any queries. We chose a hotel that was close to the clubs, restaurants and all the bars in Tignes. So there were no transfers or messing around required. I would advise anyone planning a ski stag do to use these guys. Tignes is beautiful, yet a bit pricey. For something similar I can say we’d consider Slovenia and Bulgaria for next time to save on beer money. Thanks again Russ, you were great!

Thanks to Elliott for sorting my bro’s skiing stag weekend in France. The hotel was ideal with a lovely spa and perfect location for the Tignes après ski. The nightlife was wicked there. The boys loved it. Skiing was great but I have to confess we probably didn’t do the terrain much justice. Special praise to Sebastian who met us at the airport and over-saw our check-in; showed us where to get our skis fitted and sorted out our ski passes.

Blasto

Snow conditions were a bit mushy as we were at the end of the season but it didn’t stop us from having a blasto. Hotel was quality, right location and all transfers worked fine. Although the departure driver never stopped smoking all the way to the airport, which was a bit disappointing and unprofessional.

Made life easier

Our Tignes ski stag was epic. We were really lucky with the weather – excellent snow and blue skies. Living the dream. Out hotel was a solid 3 star; a bit of a trek into town but after a few jager bombs it was fine. We also were able to catch a ski lift shuttle in the mornings up the hill which made life easier. Apres ski and nightlife in general was top notch. Lots of young brits there and great DJ’s. Id definitely go again.

Girona airport

As a small ski stag part this resort worked well for us. The only possible negative is the transfer from Girona airport takes over 3 hours. On the way out it was fine but, on the way, back feeling hungover it was rough. But we are back now and fully recovered ready for next year. I hear Borovets is good for a ski stag do?

Nightlife was great

I read an article in the Sunday Times saying that Tignes is one of the three best budget skiing resorts in Europe so that’s why we chose it and it really did hit the spot. A lot of my mates had not skied before but nearly half the ski instructors were Brits so they were well looked after. Nightlife was great too and although not as cheap as Bulgaria or Slovenia it is affordable. Our accommodation was great. Solid 3 star hotel. It was a bit of a hike up to the ski lift, but it was downhill coming back which worked well. Food was top notch and our stag mania rep ‘Sebastian’ was very friendly and gave us loads of solid tips for places to check out and runs to try. I managed to cover a lot of ski miles over the weekend and it brought back loads of great memories; but life’s all about forging new ones and this we did in spades!

Twelve Irish lads

Twelve Irish lads travelling from Dublin over St.Paddys day; what could go wrong! Well as it happens; nothing! What a weekend. Yes, my liver is now divorcing me but apart from that everything was top dollar. Transfers, hotels, ski gear all decent and Tignes was hilarious. We spent a lot of time as you can imagine in the Harp Irish bar and spent a small fortune, but it literally was comedy gold. Some of the local DJ’s were legends playing all the classics. At one stage they had us all doing the Conga round and even outside the bar. Even the Guinness was decent. One of the best cheap ski stag dos in Europe we have experienced.

Tignes was ideal

Tignes was ideal for us. 8 lads from Sheffield all beginners. We wanted a cheap French ski resort with good nightlife and Tignes delivered. Our ski lessons were great and crazily our ski instructor ‘Rich’ was a northerner like us on his first season; so, he went the extra mile to help us. Après ski was great; we spent a lot of time in Bar Code and the Iceberg pub. We also got over to Val for one night and went to the Lion which was a riot. Cracking winter stag do – thanks all involved.
