Snow Festivals are a great idea for a winter stag do idea. Enjoy music, the arts and comedy right across the mountains of Europe.

Where are the best ski Festivals in Europe?

The best snow festivals are found in France and Austria. See our top suggestions for this winter below.

Snow Bombing Festival  | Austria

Snow Bombing is known as the mother of mountain music festivals. It’s the original ski festival in Europe. Snow Bombing Festival runs annually during April time in Austria. At a dizzying 8500 ft above sea level, it’s also the highest festival in Europe. Based in Mayrhofen, this legendary festival must be dropped into your bucket list of must-do experiences.

The annual line-up includes the best DJs on the scene, from deep house defected sounds to Future-Trap beats. You can find yourself raving in an igloo, cutting shapes in an alpine forest, or jumping into a pool party at a local 5 star hotel. There’s chair lift speed dating, snow limos, glazier shooter girls and even Alpine yoga.

The accommodation is on par with the rest of the festival, as you can find yourself relaxing in really nice chalets. No need to pack your tents. If interested in a Snowbombing stag do, send a quick enquiry. We organise all aspects of the trip. From bus transfer strippers to chalet wake-up naughty maids.

Rise Festival | France

Rise Festival takes place every December, in Les Deux Alpes. A week-long music festival hosting the cream of dance music’s DJs. Revellers can expect a good mix of Garage, House, Techno, D ‘n’ B and Grime. Electronic music definitely is the main ingredient. Although, Rise Festival is not as big as some of the other snow festivals on our list, it still packs a punch.

As well as the live music, there will be: an ice disco, cinema screenings, chill out areas and snow beach parties. The music goes on all  night and you can find yourself dancing into the next morning. It’s big with the university crowd, so expect a younger 20s vibe here. We love the fact that the whole ski village is involved and the main stage knows how to rock a crowd. We’ve been organising ski stag weekends in Les 2 Alpes for a long time. So check out our affordable ski stag packages to France and send a quick enquiry.

Getting there by flights: Fly into Grenoble – 1hr 45mins transfer. Or Fly into Chambery – 2 hr transfer. Or Fly into Lyon – 2hrs 20 mins transfer. Our transportation team can collect from any of these airports.

Snowboxx Festival | France

Snowboxx has become one of the best snow music ski festivals around. The line-ups always speak for themselves. Heavy weight dance acts and world-class Djs ripping up the stages, whilst you carve up the snow. What more can you want for a winter stag do idea.

The Festivals home is in Avoriaz. Known as the highest winter resort in the Franco-Swiss region of Portes du Soleil. It has a big reputation, being that it has the largest connected ski area in the world. Off piste, there is a broad selection of excellent restaurants, pubs and spas.

One activity reserved for the groom is the Skim Pool, which involves riding on skis down a mini slope into an ice cold 20 metre pool dressed in their best fancy dress. For the serious skiers and snowboard riders you’ll enjoy 200 lifts, 11 snow parks, 14 valleys and 12 resorts. Portes du Soleil is an undisputable skiing power house, perfect for those wanting a ski stag holiday, not just a cheeky break away. Snowboxx festival offers a minimum of 5 stages to choose from. Downtown where you’ll find 6 nightclubs and no shortage of a crowd who are up till the early hours.

Getting there: Avoriaz is easy to reach. Located only 95km from Geneva International airport, the second-largest airport in Switzerland. The bus transfer will take 2 hours on average. Chambery Airport is 2 hours away, Lyon and Grenoble Airport are 3 hours away.  Geneva is served by: Aer Lingus, British Airways, Easyjet, Flybe, Jet2.com, Swiss.

Altitude Festival | Austria

If music festivals are not your thing, fear not as this Austrian winter comedy festival has you covered. Altitude Festival takes place in the town of Mayrhofen and will leave you in stitches. Hopefully due to the laughter and not the antics of the a ski stag weekend. Altitude festival attracts comedians from all over the globe and acts who appear regularly on T.V. Expect your ski stag holiday to be taken up by great skiing in the day, and hilarity at night. Acts begin shows around 5pm, so plenty of time to relax after a day’s beer sweat on the slopes.

The town of Mayrhofen has plenty to do for the non-skiers and the festival has loads of interesting pop-up events. So, for once the hills of Austria are not alive with the sound of music… but comedy. Big snow, and big laughs. Altitude Festival has to be one of the best winter stag do ideas to choose.

Getting there: Fly direct to Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg. Our ski stag do team will co-ordinate your transfers. But we don’t book flights for the winter comedy festival.

Tomorrowland Winter Festival

Tomorrowland Winter Festival is one of the newest but best ski festivals to try. High in the French Alpes, party goers will find a magical event. Where design and music merge together, like a snowboard on virgin snow. Ski stag weekends in Alpe d’Huez are very popular, but even more so with the arrival of this legendary music festival. Three times has the Grand Domaine Ski area, been voted world’s best.

Combine amazing skiing, with incredible sound systems, fancy dress and wild-après antics, and you’ll se why this is a must-do winter stag do idea. Tomorrowland winter brings the biggest names in dance music, from house to upfront trance and hard techno hitting beats. Your ski stag party will love the vibes under the sun, surrounded by mountains and cheeky ski babes. Sounds crazy right? Seeing is believing.

Getting there: Grenoble is the closest international airport to Alp d’Huez, but Lyon isn’t too far away either which has loads of flights coming in from all over the world.
